Bahia de las Animas

This side trail from Valle de los Cirios takes you to the cove/beach of Bahia de las Animas. The trail is easy enough for 2WD, and even the low clearance of a BMW X5 made it out. The trail takes about an hour from the main road to the beach, but time could be greater if trail conditions are less than ideal. There are a few sections that are narrow with vegetation overgrowth, so expect your vehicle to gain a pinstripe or two. The end result is a secluded bay with a handful of primitive beach camp spots. Local fisherman also camp in the area and fish the bay. They are friendly folk and may even sell you some of the day's catch. No cell service. Please abide by Tread Lightly practices and pack out what you pack in.
