Trail Overview

This trail takes you from Highway 1 to the Oja De Liebre Lagoon, where you can see the grey whales during birthing season. It almost looks like you are on a moonscape when driving near dusk. The trail is crushed rocks and sandy. Most of the way is graded. You will pass some salt mining operations, and there is a gate where a guard will take your license plate. Just tell them you are going out to camp or to see the whales.
