Trail Overview

This route begins at Highway 1, where you'll pass through an unlocked barbed-wire gate and head straight down a sandy road. The trail consists of 2 to 3 inches of soft sand throughout, with gentle ascents and descents along the way. Airing down your tires is highly recommended if you have the means to air them back up later, as it greatly improves traction. As you near the coast, you'll catch your first glimpse of the ocean before making a sharp right turn onto a firmer road. This path eventually curves left, leading you directly to the shoreline, where shellfish farms dot the coastal waters. The sunsets here are spectacular, but be mindful of coyotes in the area, especially if you're traveling with dogs.
