Trail Overview

This chunk of trail is part of the RAP tour (Round Algonquin Park) and is absolutely beautiful. This is more of a summer/ fall journey. The colors start turning in late September. Lots of nice scenery and tight forest areas. Running from South to north, the first 2/3rds of the trail is primarily loose rock and dirt base. You encounter many tight branch sections and changes in elevation as you move through the gullies. Not much for notable obstacles until the last 1/3rd of the trail. This is what takes the most time and requires precise line choices. You will have to navigate some mud holes and rock gardens. Completing your journey with a loose climb up to West Oxbow Rd.

Difficulty

You start on an old logging road, which is scenic but becomes tight brush. There is a point where the crushed rock base for the trail turns to dirt/mud with rock gardens. The mud holes have rocks hiding and are relatively deep, but very doable with some clearance and decent tires. The corduroy section is well packed and better to stick to the logs. I would be careful of the North chunk in the spring.
