Trail Overview
This is a dirt trail that is mostly two vehicles wide, with some elevation along the route. The trail is generally well maintained because it provides access to the wind turbine area. There may be some tight spots where trees have fallen across the trail, as well as washouts during the spring. Both can generally be navigated with care. Due to the elevation, snow may remain on the trail until late spring. There is no cell service along most of the road; however, SMS messages can be sent from the top. When you get to the top, the trail becomes a wide-open field with lots of space to turn around or camp overnight. Keep your eyes open for wildlife; deer can be seen in the area. Seasonal Closure Alert: This is a designated snowmobile trail. Be sure to check local regulations, as it is typically closed from December 1st to April 15th.
History
The "TV tower" referenced by TV Tower Road in northern New Brunswick is part of mid-20th-century broadcasting infrastructure. The primary installation that gave the road its name was the historic CKAM-TV (channel 12) transmitter site.
