Trail Overview

A short, tight spur branching off the Yahk River Forest Service Road, climbing to an old decommissioned cell phone tower. This one's not for wide rigs or anyone precious about their paint — the trail is narrow and overgrown, with frequent deadfall to climb over or route around. Expect a fresh set of "BC pinstripes" by the time you reach the top. The payoff is worth it: big views from the tower site, and a short walk from there gets you to the Canada/US border. Flat enough at the top for a tent, making it a solid spot for an overnight camp or just a scenic lunch stop.

Difficulty

The trail is steep and continuous but not technical — no rock crawling or major obstacles. The main challenge is the trail's width: it's tight the entire way with no pull-offs or passing spots, so meeting oncoming traffic could mean a long reverse. Expect overgrowth and fallen trees that may require minor clearing. High clearance recommended; full-size vehicles will likely pick up brush scratches. Not suitable for wide or long trailers due to lack of turnaround options.
