Trail Overview

The Upper Kitimat Road is a gravel road that travels up the Kitimat River. While the road is maintained for natural resource development, heavy rains have eroded a few sections, and caution is recommended. It is also common for loose rocks to fall on the road. At the 8-kilometer mark (5-mile mark), there is an old gated bridge that leads to the Upper Kitimat River Recreational Site. The site is not maintained or accessible by vehicle, but it is beautiful. There are a few spur roads along the way, some heavily overgrown.
