Trail Overview

Stevens FSR is an easy, 2.7-mile scenic unpaved route in the Kootenay Mountains near Whatshan Lake. Connecting directly to Whatshan West Road, this beginner-friendly trail offers easy access to branching spur roads and the Upper Arrow Lake ferries, making it a great gateway for exploring the backcountry. Elevation ranges from 2,190 to 2,409 feet with 218 feet of gentle climbing. The road is generally well-maintained, though drivers should expect rough washboard sections. Because this is an active logging corridor, stay alert for heavy equipment and logging trucks, which have the right of way.
