Private Camp

Private Camp is a short spur trail branching off the Buck Hills Forest Service Road directly across from the Nicklen Lake Recreation Site entrance. This 0.57-mile route offers a secluded, flat clearing with no through traffic to kick up dust. It provides a hassle-free drive into a quiet timbered clearing. This spur is particularly well-suited as a quiet hunting camp or a base camp for winter snowmobile weekends in the hills. Because there is no natural water source nearby and zero cell coverage in the area, visitors must come fully prepared and self-sufficient with plenty of water and offline maps. While it lacks immediate lake frontage, its proximity to Nicklen Lake means recreation is only a short drive or walk away, offering the perfect compromise of solitude and nearby water activities.
