Trail Overview
Klaskino Main is a gravel road that winds through a rich, dense forest made up of a variety of tree species. This scenic route leads from Mahatta Main all the way to the Klaskish Inlet, offering a peaceful and remote journey through the heart of the wilderness. The road surface is generally manageable but includes potholes and occasional rain runoff channels, which require cautious driving. Scattered along the trail are numerous fallen branches and tree trunks -- not blocking the road entirely but enough to demand careful maneuvering. These natural obstacles add a magical challenge to the drive, especially when visibility is reduced by dust. Wildlife is abundant here, with bears and deer frequently seen along the route. Please drive slowly and stay alert. As this is also an active logging road, logging trucks have the right of way, and drivers should yield whenever necessary, especially around blind corners.
