Gold River Road

Gold River Road begins just outside the town of Gold River and follows along the scenic shores of Muchalat Lake. This fairly wide gravel trail is lined with dense trees, branches, and thick bushes, creating a lush and immersive forest environment. Throughout the route, you'll encounter numerous potholes that call for cautious driving, though the overall surface remains manageable for most vehicles. Occasional sections of clear-cut forest open up glimpses through the trees, offering beautiful views of the surrounding upper mountains and neighboring lakes. This trail offers a pleasant mix of forested seclusion and scenic overlooks, making it a great option for relaxed cruising or as a connector to more rugged backcountry routes.
