Doctor's Point

Trail Overview

Doctor's Point is a short but rewarding trail located approximately 50 kilometers (30 miles) up the Sts'ailes Forest Service Road (FSR). The trailhead is an overgrown turnoff, which can be easy to miss. The route itself is narrow and heavily vegetated, so pinstripes can be expected. Midway along the trail, you'll encounter a small rock garden offering multiple lines--perfect for those looking to test their skills. Nearby, you'll notice the remains of a Pathfinder that once veered off the trail, serving as a reminder of the route's challenges. As you near the lake, the trail winds around a fallen tree and several large boulders, creating a few tight corners that require careful navigation. Upon reaching the beach, visitors are rewarded with stunning views of a peaceful bay, a small island, and beautiful mountain views across Harrison Lake. The Doctor's Point site is associated with a powerful shaman -- often referred to as "The Doctor" -- who was believed to control the winds on Harrison Lake. Legend holds that a transformer turned this shaman into stone. A rock painting can be found at the point representing the shaman himself in his transformed state.
