Conkle Lake

Johnstone Creek West Road takes you to Conkle Lake, a hidden gem up on the plateau between the Okanagan Valley and the Kettle Valley. The road is a well-maintained forest service road with some washboarding on hills and some potholes. The road surface is gravel. The road winds around with many spots to stop and admire the views. Expect the road to be very dusty in the summer, which can lead to poor visibility. Because Conkle Lake has a Provincial Campsite, there can be more traffic than the average FSR. The road is just over 25 kilometers to the lake. The campsite has 34 sites and 2 group sites. There is a fabulous sandy beach and good swimming and fishing in the lake. There is also a hiking trail to a waterfall.
