Trail Overview

This is a nice trail to the top of Grande Mountain. The trail is best done before winter unless you have chains but it is not recommended as I slid down one section backwards once upon a time. Epic views, rocky sections, windy at the top and did I mention the views? There are some spots you can tuck yourself away in for some camping.

Difficulty

The trail is fairly simple but it isn't always wide enough for 2 vehicles so be prepared to move over. There are some rocky sections but it is definitely worth the drive to the top.

Climbed to the top without any problems but! I wouldn't rate it as 1/10

Trail was very muddy after multiple days of rain in a row. We turned back on the second last switch back due to the rain picking back up and worried about descending in a storm. Other than the mud that day, we didn’t find any obstructions or issues, if it’s dry you should be good to go up!

For the most part it was great, I couldn’t complete the whole trail, there was 1/4 left in which there was a wash out and really deep cracks in the path, I went up with a Nissan armada pro 4x so plenty of clearance and underneath protection and good all terrain tires, I could have probably made it all way to the top, but not in a safe manner. I’d say the last 1/4 of the trail is a 3-4

I drive a fairly modified Tacoma,Trail was very dry and in good condition, I definitely wouldn't call it a 1, a RWD would definitely spin out with the grade in the last 1/4 of the drive. Some good tires and you MIGHT get up them with some speed. You definitely need a good approach angle for some sections, not a trail for unmodified SUVs
