Trail Overview
The Allison Creek trail is an excellent alternative to the main road to move up & down the valley while having a good time. You will mostly encounter a dirt trail with many hardened bumps created when the trail is wet; large mud holes can be discovered with variable depth depending on the prior week of precipitation. The South section West of the main road is only for SxS or smaller due to a very gnarly & bridle bridge. Across the road to EastEast, the mid-section can be tackled by adventurous high-clearance 4x4, and you will be on a portion of the Seven Sisters Trail. In the north section, starting when the Seven sister trail makes a sharp turn east, you will be going straight and will encounter a steep section going down & narrowing, followed by a switchback climb. I recommend an advanced SxS operator only for smaller vehicles. In general, this is a flatter trail than most trails in the Rockies, it is pretty entertaining & good fun.
