Description
This easy hiking route begins and ends near the Minna Anthony Common Nature Center within Wellesley Island State Park. Starting from the trailhead, follow signs toward the Eel Bay Trail, which leads southwest through flat, wooded terrain. The trail winds past wetland areas and through mixed hardwood forest before approaching the shoreline of Eel Bay. Continue along the water’s edge to reach Sand Cove, where a rocky shoreline offers scenic spots to rest and watch for waterfowl. After Sand Cove, the route turns inland and connects with Middle Trail at a signed junction. Turn right to follow Middle Trail south through more forested terrain and occasional wet meadows. The path eventually loops back toward the Nature Center, completing the circuit.
