The Beatty Point Trail begins near Beatty Point Road northwest of Greece, New York, and follows a gentle, grassy path through a broad wetland preserve. This route is flat and easy to follow, making it accessible for novice hikers, families, and birders. From the trailhead, the path winds through open meadow and cattail marshes, gradually approaching the Lake Ontario shoreline. Keep right at informal trail junctions and continue toward designated observation blinds positioned for viewing waterfowl and migrating raptors.
This trail is part of a New York State Wildlife Management Area, and it offers year-round access, though conditions can be muddy in spring. Expect rich birdlife, especially during fall and spring migrations, with views across the lake and quiet chances to spot herons, hawks, and other marshland species. Carry all drinking water and remain aware of seasonal hunting activity by wearing blaze orange in autumn.
