The Frye Town Forest Trail System begins near the end of the Class VI section of Frye Road in Kingston, New Hampshire. The main entrance is best accessed on foot from Johnson Road, especially during wet seasons when the road becomes muddy or impassable by vehicle. The trail system includes three marked routes—Blue, Red, and White—forming a compact network of double- and single-track footpaths that wind through upland woods and wetland habitat.
Starting on the Blue Trail, hikers cross sturdy footbridges over Colby Brook and traverse sections of elevated boardwalk. At the first junction, the Red Trail splits off to the left, climbing gently to drier high ground with views of old stone walls and mature hardwoods. The White Trail, a short connector, links the Red and Blue Trails to allow for a variety of route options. Points of interest include an active beaver dam along the brook, a signed historical marker near a former tire dump, and the moss-covered cellar hole of the old Frye family farmstead. This trail system offers a quiet, short-distance forest hike suitable for year-round exploration.
