The Tony Grove Nature Trail is a great family friendly hike that circles Tony Grove Lake which is a beautiful alpine lake that sits about 8000 feet. The drive into the lake is gorgeous. It is a well signed turn off highway 89 in Logan Canyon and is about a six mile drive to the lake. The views on the drive are spectacular especially in fall. Tony Grove has some of the largest Aspen groves in the world and you also get great views of Mount Naomi, the highest peak in Cache County and the Bear River Range. This is also a great spot to see Moose and Elk! There is a 6 dollar fee to park in the parking area. Two very popular hikes also start here: Naomi Peak and White Pine Lake. The views of the lake are very pretty from the parking area. There is a small plaque explaining how the area got its name. The hiking trail starts on the north end of the lake. There is a sign. The trail actually starts out in the trees before it gets to the lake and then skirts the cliffs on the west side of the lake. The sunsets here can be awesome! As you circle the lake there are some really pretty colors and some really huge pine trees. My favorite view is from the southeast corner of the lake. You get a great view of Mount Magog's south face. The entire east side of the lake is a dam with a wide trail on it that will take you back to your car.
