Cherry Creek is a nice canyon located in far north Cache County and starts at the Cherry Peak Ski Resort. This is a nice way into the Mount Naomi Wilderness Area. In the spring you can see a waterfall but most people take this as the most direct way to reach Cherry Peak. The trailhead is just North of the Cherry Peak Ski Resort. You get nice views of Cherry Peak far above you right from the trailhead. You immediately enter the trees and the Mount Naomi Wilderness. There are a few creek crossings with logs provided and handhold logs to help get you across without getting wet. The trail pretty steadily climbs the entire way and it gets prettier and prettier as you go. As the terrain opens up there are some gorgeous cascades. You get great views of Cherry Peak nearly 3,000 feet above you. The trail eventually starts heading south and keeps climbing. Before long the waterfall will come into view. It's probably about 25 feet tall with two arms. It's very scenic with high limestone cliffs above. From here it's possible to continue the adventure and climb another 2,000 feet to Cherry Peak.
