Loop
This scenic route begins from a signed trailhead near Hackensack Avenue in Warrensburg and climbs steadily through a mix of hardwood forest. After a brief ascent, stay left at the first junction to follow the loop clockwise. After a short ascent up the southeastern slope, a spur trail on the left leads to a ledge with wide views of the town and surrounding Adirondack foothills. Back on the main trail, continue uphill past scattered rock outcrops and interpretive signs that highlight the area's natural and cultural history.
The trail reaches a broad, forested summit with additional ledges offering views to the south and west. From here, descend gradually along the loop’s northwestern side, rejoining the initial trail near the base of the mountain. This is a well-maintained route with some short, steeper sections that may be slick in wet or icy conditions. It’s accessible year-round, though microspikes are recommended in winter.
With easy access from town and rewarding views, this route is a great short option for day hikes in the southern Adirondacks.
