Description
The route to The Pinnacle begins at the main parking area off Edgecomb Pond Road in Bolton Landing. Follow the well-marked Red Trail as it ascends steadily through mixed hardwood forest. After a mostly gradual climb, the trail steepens near the top with some rocky footing before reaching a wide open overlook with sweeping views of Lake George, the Narrows, and surrounding peaks. About halfway up the Red Trail, hikers can turn left onto the Blue Trail, which branches gently uphill to Bradley’s Lookout. This shorter route offers a rewarding vista with slightly less effort, making it popular for families and quick outings. All trails are open year-round and are suitable for hiking, snowshoeing, and mountain biking, though bikers should dismount on steeper shared sections. Both overlooks offer exceptional views of the Lake George region and are standout options for day hikes in the Southern Adirondacks.
