Description
The Lakeshore Trail is one of the most accessible multi use trails within Table Rock State Park along Table Rock Lake's eastern shore. The trail runs the length of the lake's shore section within the state park grounds, from its northern trailhead at the Dewey Short Visitor Center parking area to the State Park Marina at the park's southern end. However an easy and well-traveled section of the trail is that from the Visitor Center to the Showboat Branson Belle Showboat which is docked about 2/3 mile south. From the trailhead, a flat and easy to follow paved path heads through the forest, providing a shaded route that weaves along and away from the mellow waters of Table Rock Lake.Sevearl benches and interpretive signs are set along the path, and it's common to see everyone from walkers, runners, bicyclists and strollers being pushed along the trail. Eventually signs point to the the Showboat Branson Belle, an active attraction with dinner and a show. The unique attraction has a few shops and snackstands near its dock, giving trail users the chance to stop and take a break before either continuing on or returning along the Lakeshore Trail to the beginning. The Dewey Short Visitor Center is a large indoor building with exhibits, gifts, an small movie theater, and park rangers available to answer any questions about the State Park. It is definitely worth stopping to visit if you are at the park during open hours.Missouri State Parks are free to visit and do not have an entrance fee. All State Park rules apply to the Lakeshore Trail.
