Lewis Family Memorial Conservation Area Trail

The Lewis Family Memorial Conservation Area Trail is a 3.4 mile roundtrip trail that traverses a grassy hillside as it descends to the banks of slow moving Bull Creek.Spanning an area of open green space a small ways out of Branson, this trail tends to stay off the beaten path, but offers access to the slow flowing Bull Creek as a swimming hole during warm weather. Rope swings hang from trees draped over the stream banks. From the trailhead, a use path marks the way across grassy hills, weaving amongist trees as the trail gradually loses some elevation. With about 250' in descent over 1.7 miles, the trail is easy and the grade mellow. As it nears the bottom, it leaves the sunny grass behind and dips into a wooded area, including a couple dry wash crossings. Ultimately, it nears Bull Creek, the trail coming to a dead end at the water's edge. There's not really any clearings or areas to sit. Those looking to swim can head into the waters. Others can stand at its side. Then hikers and walkers can retrace their route back to the trailhead.Horses and bicycles are not permitted on this trail, adding to the peaceful nature of the area. Wind and sun flitter through the leaves of high tree canopies. This area is worth seeking out for those looking to get away completely from other hikers and trail users in the Branson area.There are no amenities of any kind located at the trailhead or along the hike. Hikers should plan ahead for bathrooms, trash and water.
