The Greenwood Trail stems from the Scenic River Trail off of OH-7, and is yet another excellent Wayne National Forest trail! It branches to the left shortly after beginning the Scenic River Trail then rejoins it after almost 7 miles to create a loop option.
This trail is unique and travels a lot of diverse terrain featuring moderate to difficult elevation change as the trail rises out of and back into deep valleys. It can be quite rocky in some parts, however, which may require more caution when visiting during the fall season. At the end of the trail, visitors face a fork, although both directions are the Scenic River Trail. Continue left to finish the Scenic River Trail (1 mile) before heading back, or continue to the right to stay on the loop (about 9 miles total).
