The Lipfert Forest Trail Network begins from a parking area off NH Route 12A in Cornish, New Hampshire. A kiosk near the trailhead provides an overview of the area’s interconnected trails. From here, hikers can choose from multiple options to create custom loop routes through a mix of mature forest, open meadows, and old farm sites. Most trails follow packed dirt paths or old forest roads, offering generally easy to moderate terrain, though some connectors have steeper grades and uneven footing.
There is no single designated loop, but hikers often link segments for short day hikes or longer excursions. Common routes pass remnants of King Elm Farm and may extend into the neighboring Cornish Town Forest for added mileage. The area is open year-round, though bright colors are recommended during hunting season. Lipfert Forest is a good option for mellow day hikes in southern New Hampshire, with flexible distances and a quiet backcountry feel.
