This route begins at the parking area on Highbridge Road in the Lyme Pinnacle Conservation Area and forms a well-defined loop through hardwood forest to the open summit of Lyme Pinnacle. From the trailhead, follow signs through the woods on a gently rising path. About a short distance in, stay right at the first junction to begin the loop in a counterclockwise direction. The trail climbs steadily through mixed forest, with occasional rocky and rooted sections, before reaching open ledges near the top.
Just below the summit, hikers encounter a historic freestanding chimney — a popular landmark and photo stop. From there, continue upward to the high point, where sweeping 360° views look out over the Connecticut River valley, nearby Lyme hills, and toward Dartmouth Skiway. Descend the other side of the loop, re-entering forest and closing the route back at the junction near the start.
This is a popular day hike in western New Hampshire during spring through late fall, especially for families and dog walkers. Though short, the moderate climb and rewarding views make it a worthwhile outing in the Upper Valley.
