Loop
The Burnt Hill and Interlaken Trail loop begins and ends at the Burnt Hill Trailhead in Finger Lakes National Forest. From the trailhead, follow the Burnt Hill Trail southeast through quiet hardwood forest before reaching a signed Y-intersection. Stay left here to continue on Burnt Hill Trail as it climbs gently through rolling terrain and passes through open meadows and seasonal wetlands. At the next marked junction, turn right onto Interlaken Trail to continue the route clockwise. This segment crosses several intermittent streams and can be muddy after recent rain.
After winding through mixed forest and open areas, the route reconnects with Picnic Area Rd. Turn right at this final junction to return eastward to the trailhead. This moderate route offers a peaceful experience with occasional deer or turkey sightings, and connects with additional trails throughout the national forest. Best traveled from late spring through fall, the trail is open year-round but may be slick or muddy during wetter months.
