The Converse Meadow route begins at a small parking area off Converseville Road in Rindge and explores a conserved landscape of old woods roads and narrow footpaths. From the trailhead, follow the main path as it heads into mixed hardwood and hemlock forest, staying mostly level as it approaches the edge of open wetlands. Early junctions offer several options to branch left or right, all remaining within a compact trail network; staying on the most established track leads toward boardwalks and views of Converse Meadow Pond within a short walk from the start.
As the route continues, interpretive signs highlight natural features and the site’s long human history, including remnants of an early mill that once operated here. Side paths weave through grassy meadows, along wetland edges, and past McGregor Pond, with boardwalks helping hikers cross low, marshy areas during wetter seasons. The terrain remains easy throughout, making this a popular option for relaxed walks and family outings. The route eventually guides hikers back toward the trailhead through quiet forest, with pond views and wildlife activity providing the main reward of this easygoing hike in southern New Hampshire.
