This moderate route begins at the Sylvan Street parking area in Marysville and follows a combination of trails through Cove Mountain Preserve. Starting on the Pink Trail, hikers climb steadily before joining the Blue Trail along the ridge. At a Y-intersection near the boulder squeeze, turn left onto the Green Trail to reach a viewpoint at the junction with the Yellow Trail. After taking in the views overlooking the Susquehanna River and Rockville Bridge, continue south on the Yellow Trail as it descends through mixed hardwood forest and reconnects with the Pink Trail, leading back to the trailhead.
Expect uneven, rocky footing in sections, especially along the ridge, and a mix of gradual climbs and descents throughout. The preserve lies along the Kittatinny Ridge, offering opportunities to spot migratory raptors in spring and fall. Seasonal seeps and small streams may appear along the forest floor, but all water should be treated. The route offers its broadest ridge views from late fall through early spring when the canopy is thin.
