Description
The blue-blazed Table Rocks Trail runs from Spring Farm parking lot to an area known Table Rocks. Table Rocks is the product of a huge but slow rock slide that took place over thousands of years as this conglomerate of rock slid downhill to where it now rests. There are huge crevasses in the rock, some as deep as 105 feet. Use caution in this area to avoid falling into the crevasses. Starting at the Spring Farm trailhead, follow the blue marked Table Rocks Trail east through an open pasture and across Spring Farm Road. You'll see Slingerland Pavilion and the barn on the left. The trail curves right and then enters tight forest. The next intersection is with red-blazed Cedar Trail as it tees in from the right. Continue straight through more forest and some brief open meadow as the trail runs under the base of a steep slope. The trail will begin to curve left and will then cross Farm Road, entering a small meadow. After a brief walk, the trail reconvenes with Farm Road and intersects red-blazed Clearwater Road. Continue straight into the forest. From this point forward the trail crosses some streams and has some brief scrambling to reach Table Rocks. Clearwater Road departs to the left soon after the intersection. Continue straight on Table Rocks Trail. An old jeep path departs to the right soon afterward and runs to Avery Marsh. Again, continue straight out to Table Rocks. After this jeep road, you'll soon see Table Rocks appear on the left. Note that this is an out and back trail. Return the same way you came.
