Description
This trail can be followed in either direction. It does not have its own trailhead, but is reached by the Johnson's Arch Trail in the north (about 0.4 miles from the trailhead) and the Gila Trail in the south (just over a mile from the nearest trailhead on Cascade Canyon Drive). The north half skirts the rim of the lava flow above Sand Hollow Wash, then crosses the wash, and climbs to the base of the cliff to reach Scout Cave (don't get too excited, it's just a hole in the cliff). The south end of the trail climbs up to the top of the red cliffs, where it joins the Gila Trail to continue to the south (the Paradise Canyon section of the state park) or north to the Ledges area.
