Description
You can't miss the sign and area to park. Continue hiking up the last 0.5 miles of dirt road and follow the sign left to begin the trail. The Dudley Creek Trail is a few miles of constant uphill weaving through the dense forest before opening up into a large meadow. The trail gradually steepens as you pass the timberline and come up to Dudley Lake which is the source of Dudley Creek. From here, you can see Wilson Peak 1,500 vertical feet above you. Dudley Creek Trail ends at the lake. From here, head right and follow the small creek through the grassy clearing up to the ridge. There may be a faint trail, but it's pretty easy to find an unitrusive way up to the ridge. You may see a herd of mountain goats. Follow the ridge to the peak, with a few small sections of moderate scrambles with little exposure. There may be a faint trail along the rocks to follow, otherwise just follow the ridgeline to the peak.
