Though this old golf cart path is falling into disrepair, it has a bright future as a future project.

Access Issues
In March 2022, there are several small tree falls blocking the trail that are easily circumvented. If you are looking for a little light trail improvement project, helping clear this path would be a good one.

Description
This abandoned golf cart path begins on the left bank of Vogel Creek on Steamside Drive. The path runs loops east to return to Vogel Creek near R V Mayfield Drive. The old golf course is slowly reverting to wilderness. This was originally a golf cart path in the Inwood Forest Golf and Country Club which was opened in 1967 and closed in 2007. In 2011, the City of Houston purchased the 227-acre course for flood control purposes. In March 2020, the Houston Parks Board completed the Inwood Detention Recreation Study, which envisions 12 miles of trails connecting parklets and wild areas around planned stormwater detention basins.
