Beginning at the parking area off Wright Lane in Delmar, this route connects several trails within Normans Kill Ravines Park to form a full circuit around the park’s perimeter. Hikers start on the Entrance Trail and quickly transition to the Full Loop Trail, following a wooded corridor with gradual climbs and occasional muddy tread. At a signed Y-intersection, stay left to continue on the Full Loop, which parallels the Normans Kill River through shaded, narrow sections of trail. Be alert for mountain bikers—this is a shared-use path with limited visibility in places.
After following the river, the route turns inland on the Artery Trail, where the elevation gain becomes more noticeable—the steepest climbing in the park occurs in this section. Continue until you reach the Exit Trail and follow it back toward the trailhead. Temporary bridge closures and maintenance work may affect trail access, especially in wetter months. Despite its modest size, this network offers one of the most engaging day hikes near Albany, with quiet ravines, mixed hardwood forest, and riverbank terrain.
