There and Back
A relatively easy trail, aside from its long distance, for a day hike, Stanford Rock Trail has a gentle trail surface of pine needles thanks to the surrounding canopy. There is some rocky footing present near the summit of this volcanic hill. At the very top, a wooden bench provides a resting spot with a truly incredible view of Lake Tahoe. There isn't camping on this trail, but continuing on the trail to the west will link with the Tahoe Rim Trail and opportunities for backcountry camping.
