Description
The Palisades Tahoe Loop is a 15-mile loop that is ocated in Olympic Valley, California, northwest of Tahoe City in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Some of Olympic Valley's most stunning terrain can be found along the Palisades Tahoe Loop. The loop runs through a ski resort area and is therefore suitable for running or hiking in summer, spring and early fall. The area attracts hikers, runners, backpackers and mountain bikers. This loop uses a portion of the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail, a designated National Scenic Trail where bicycles are prohibited.Beautiful mountain views and strenuous vertical gain characterize this challenging loop. You will travel along this route from the foothills to the high peaks of the Sierra Nevada. It is a journey through fragrant forests of pine and fir trees, along rocky ridgelines, and across green hillsides adorned with spring flowers. Those looking for a trail adventure with a lot of vertical gain and amazing mountain views will love this loop.
