This route begins at the Corbett Hollow Campsite on Corbett Hollow Road and follows a northeastern line along the Finger Lakes Trail through dense mixed hardwood forest. After a steady climb, watch for a sharp right turn onto Guiren Haul Road, an old logging track that flattens out for a brief stretch. Continue until a marked right turn leads onto the Oneida Trail. From here, the path bears southwest, gradually descending through forested ridges and occasional muddy low spots before returning to Corbett Hollow Road near the starting point.
The route combines established singletrack with rougher forest roads, offering a moderately challenging experience typical of day hikes in Goundry Hill State Forest. Wildlife sightings are common, and access to the wider Finger Lakes Trail system adds regional hiking value. Expect muddy conditions after rain, minimal signage, and limited cell service—map and compass or GPS are strongly recommended.
