Trail Overview

This easy trail connects FS 550 with FS 501 and offers a relaxed drive through a scenic mountain environment. While the route presents little in the way of technical difficulty, it provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy the surrounding landscape. Along the way, you’ll pass through a smaller version of Red Park, with open terrain and beautiful views that make this route particularly enjoyable. There are also two or three large, flat dispersed campsites along the trail, providing excellent options for those looking to spend a night in the area. As the route winds through the forest, the terrain gradually opens in places, revealing views of the surrounding mountains in the distance. Depending on the season, keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife that frequently moves through this remote and peaceful area.
