Trail Overview

This is a 3.1-mile-long segment of the larger 9.4-mile Crankshaft Loop, which allows one-way travel and should be ridden in the clockwise direction. This section is characterized by smooth, fast-flowing singletrack that winds through open meadows and light tree cover. The trail features tight turns, soft dirt, and good flow, with scenic views throughout. It includes occasional built features like wooden bridges and optional ramps, likely designed for mountain bikers. A notable embedded rock creates a one-foot drop-off like a small jump. Though generally flat and gradual, there are short stretches with looser rock and a few steeper climbs, especially where the trail traverses hillsides with a bit more exposure. This segment ends at a road crossing and junction with the Guided Trail "Upper Crankshaft."

Difficulty

This is an easy trail due to its smooth flow, gradual terrain, and limited technical features, although it's narrow. Minor climbs and loose rock sections add mild variety, but the route should remain manageable to newer riders with basic skill levels.
