History

The Stateline Route follows a former corridor of the Chicago and North Western Railway, which was once crucial for transporting iron ore and timber from northern Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. After the rail line was abandoned, the corridor was repurposed into a multi-use recreational trail.

Trail was wet and puddly due to the "severe thunderstorm" helped keep the dust (that was an issue earlier) down. Some deer crossings during my ride. Road crossings were rutted up. Center of the trail was really loose. Travel "lanes" were hard packed. Ran in 2wd the whole time, Unless there's snow, you shouldn't ever need 4x on this trail.
