Trail Overview

This is an out-and-back forest road in the Gauley Ranger District of Monongahela National Forest. It is notable as it provides access to Camp Splinter on the Cranberry River. Note that this camp is administered by the Richwood Chamber of Commerce, not the USFS. It's a well-maintained gravel road that any street-legal vehicle should be able to negotiate. It traverses a wooded area and loosely follows Jackeman Run over its length. It's a short scenic ride to the camp and back from County Route 7/5. It loses about 800 feet on its way down to the river in a gentle descent to the camp. Please be respectful of anyone occupying the camp. There are no dispersed sites along this Forest Service route.
