Trail Overview

IB 83 is a challenging, steep ascent running from north to south off of IB 18. The trail begins with a steep, rutted hill, followed by a switchback into another steep slope. A metal rod is placed across the trail for erosion control, creating a foot-high slick ledge that will challenge most off-road vehicles due to the steepness. The trail continues with deep, foot-deep ruts, extreme slickness, decaying leaves, loose rock, and some embedded rocks, making it very slippery. The trail remains steep all the way until it intersects with IB 62, requiring careful navigation for experienced drivers.
