Trail Overview
Walker Valley Mainline is primarily a graded gravel and dirt road with a few sections of ungraded gravel. It is an easy ride in the summer months; however, there is no winter maintenance. During times of rain, snow, and ice, the road can become rutted and harder to travel on. Walker Valley Mainline is the main access road within the Walker Valley ORV Area. The Walker Valley ORV Area is situated within the Walker Valley State Forest. The main parking lot is on the northern end of the Mainline. All of the ORV Area trails are accessed off the Mainline. There are a few locations to stop along the road to view the epic scenery, as shown in the trail pics. To ride in the Walker Valley ORV Area, you must have a Washington State Discover Pass. Access to the main 4x4 trails is off of this road; however, the trails are gated, and each access location (one to the north and one to the south) has gatekeeper obstacles to traverse to gain entry. There are pictures of the gatekeepers for reference.
Difficulty
Walker Valley Mainline is an easy ride in the summer months; however, there is no winter maintenance. During periods of rain, snow, and ice, the road becomes more difficult to travel on. It can become washed out and rutted in the spring thaw and rainy seasons. There can be water in the ruts, and they will become slick and muddy.
