Trail Overview

During the summer months, this is an easy gravel road up to Tupso Pass. In the winter months, it can become a bit muddy and snowy on the trail. This is a nice scenic trail to go up and have lunch on the mountain or just get out in nature. There are beautiful mountain views. There isn't really any camping on this road. Part of the trail has an area where the road has fallen in, but as long as you have high clearance 4WD, you can get around it.

Difficulty

This trail is very easy in the summer. In winter, it can be muddy as it is a gravel/mud road and it gets snow.

Around 3.3 miles in, road is washed out and has intentionally been blocked with large rocks and dead trees. Enough space for a very small vehicle to pass through but spoke to a ranger while up there, and they really don’t want people going through.

Rode in on big ADV bikes. Great easy trail, but becomes impassable at the Canyon Creek bridge. Total washout. There’s also a smaller washout but bikes can easily get by.

As shown, a few miles up the trail, part of the road slid down, and the rest looks like rocks either fell or were placed there. For those with large tires and lifts, the way to the right might be passable. We turned around and went up the other side of the trail.
