Trail Overview
Swan Lake 1 is an easy, 11-mile offroad loop through the Colville National Forest in Ferry County, Washington. Featuring gentle elevation changes between 3,286 and 3,944 feet, this scenic route winds through dense evergreen forests near Swan Lake, making it ideal for beginners and families.
The entire loop consists of well-maintained gravel forest roads accessible to standard high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles, side-by-sides, and dual-sport motorcycles. The route is highly accessible from Republic and offers direct connections to Swan Lake Campground for camping, fishing, and hiking.
Access Description
The trail lies within the Colville National Forest. While forest roads do not require a permit, standard fees and regulations apply at the nearby Swan Lake Campground. Check the U.S. Forest Service website for any seasonal closures or campfire restrictions.
