Trail Overview

The Sunrise Mine Road is an access road to the Sunrise Mine Trailhead. This road comes off the Mountain Loop Highway and offers tremendous views of snow-capped peaks as you travel towards the trailhead. A number of small spots to camp are along this road, but its main use is accessing Vesper Peak and the surrounding landscapes. The road is in good condition, with some potholes and old washes that have been repaired. Down the road, trees have been cleared, and the road ends in a narrow parking lot that is used for hiking.
