Trail Overview

A quick 20-minute scenic, well-maintained side route off the popular 4250 Mount Saint Helens route. The communication tower at the summit may be the end, but the real payoff is the views just before the final winding climb, offering massive, unobstructed views of Mount Saint Helens, Mount Adams, and Mount Rainier.

Difficulty

The first half of this route is a well-maintained, two-car-width Forest Service road. Once you turn off toward the peak, the road narrows but remains passable for two vehicles with care. The driving is technically very easy, with no deep ruts or large washouts to worry about. A few mud puddles and roughly a 7-degree incline are the worst you'll see on the way up.
