Trail Overview

This trail is hardly a trail but more of some backwoods exploring through an old logging and quarry site. The best part of this loop is the campsite; it is well worth the short trek. Due note the trail is a skinny one-lane road up, so say goodbye to that scratch-less paint job you are rocking, and hello to some pinstriping. There are a few campsites along this trail along with one large one that can easily fit 5+ vehicles with a spectacular view. If you follow this trail to the end, you will find a very nice and flat secluded campsite with an excellent view into Seattle on a clear day. There are no obstacles on this trail, however, the last swirl does have a shortcut straight to the campsite that is a fun little hill to climb. Please leave this spot better than you found it!

Difficulty

This trail is more of a road, as you are going between gravel and dirt the entire drive. There are a few bumps here and there, but nothing the family station wagon can't handle. At the end, there is a fun little hill to climb but there is an obvious bypass you can take.

Wife wanted to scope out campground before committing. Quick day trip, no overnight. Partial gravel road before elevation change, then pavement most of the way before the final dirt road that narrows to viewpoint. Once the road narrows there’s almost no turn outs for U-Turns so you need to commit until the end. Went all the way to the top with zero issues, even in full-size. Yes, it got plenty of pin stripes, but can’t complain. Didn’t stop at the larger campground (Mountain View) and decided to go to the top for the smaller campground with the view of Seattle. Beautiful day, just dusty.

Easy drive, good views and expect some awesome pinstripping on your vehicle. One lane road with some turn outs. Epic views.

Drove to the top, no problems. Most of the way is flat gravel and paved. The last bit is the harder part. Quite narrow for my van. Good view at the top.

Gravel forest service road then turns into a skinnier paved road and the last 2 miles is gravel and skinny. Expect pin stripes, especially in a full size vehicle but wasn’t important to us but did see that from a previous review so nice to know. We passed 4 vehicles in total the whole time and luckily there are turn outs when the road narrows. It was foggy so not sure if a view but saw one van camped along the way and you could definitely camp one at the end of this too.

Very Easy, My 2WD F150 had no problems. Pretty rocky and rough though. The top has a sweet camp site, and an equally as sweet view if seattle.

No snow. Asphalt at the beginning, then a mixture of dirt and gravel. Someone went through and cleared some downed trees (Thank you). We went up in a full sized truck and got some pin striping. Cloudy when we went so no views.

Made it 0.8 miles from camping lookout. Turned around due to 8+ inches of snow on trail at this point, didn't try chaining up, probably could have made it then. 98 outback with 27" yokohama geolander at's. This snow is from late February/early March dump. Temps and freezing level rising rapidly, trail will melt within one month.
