Mountain Home Ranch Road

It's an easy trail, really great scenery, and there weren't many people on it. It was dusty, and had areas that were fairly rough and had washboard.

Open but with snow / ice, I turned around halfway. I wouldn’t recommend it without chains.

deep snow. very slushy with ice on top.

high snow after the storm. had to make a U turn at the Lodge.

Lower elevation sections are mostly ice on both ends near Leavenworth and 97. Higher up its hard snow on top of ice. Had to be slow and careful to avoid sliding out of control. The ruts are helpful for keeping on course. Chains probably advisable, I did not use chains.

Compacted snow/ice. Easy to drive through.

Is a pretty simple easy drive today. There’s a decent amount of traffic every once in a while. The camping spots are few and far between. However, there is a nice overlook that is on the top of the hill that looks down over the town of Leavenworth. So if you can grab it, it’s a great spot. It is marked that says camping not allowed. But it’s hard to tell where the property lines and and where the natural forest beginsbut a nice simple quick drive to get you off the beaten path of asphalt.
